Cattle Feeding and Finishing at Châtel Farms
Situated on 1,155 acres in Reidsville, Georgia, Châtel Farms is equipped to raise up to 5,500 cattle inside our unique barns and 3,000 head in the pens to meet our customers’ needs.

Our Barns are as Distinctive as Our Cattle
Châtel Farms features a revolutionary barn concept designed by FPL Food founder François Léger. These next-step barns can expand cattle-feeding opportunities and serve as a model for similar feeding operations throughout the Southeast. Their high roofs and open walls are designed to keep the temperature comfortable even on hot Georgia summer days.
Humane Handling of Our Cattle is Our Top Priority
At Châtel Farms, we maintain 100% transparency in all of our farm’s practices and operations. Our third-party audited animal welfare program also confirms that our cattle are raised with expert guidance to minimize stress throughout their lifecycle.

Pasture-Raised and Grain-Finished at Châtel Farms
Cattle graze on a variety of grasses that rotate throughout the year to ensure maximum forage nutrients and protect the land. Our farm managers also fertilize the soil naturally with manure and utilize low stocking rates to maintain the soil and grass.
Once our cattle are ready for finishing, they are moved from the pastures to our onsite state-of-the-art finishing barns. Our cattle are fed a 100% vegetarian diet made up of steam-flaked corn, silage, natural forage and mineral supplements. All forage and silage are produced at Châtel Farms, with hay and corn purchased from local farmers. Châtel Farms has one of the only steam-flaked corn mills in the Southeast. This process breaks down the hard coating of the individual corn kernels and allows for better digestion and performance, resulting in flavorful, well-marbled beef.
