WHAT WE DO
Pride You Can Feel from Our Pastures to the Plate
Our commitment to vertically integrated beef begins at Châtel Farms, our 1,155-acre farm in Reidsville, Georgia. Châtel Farms provides high-quality beef, consistent volume and dependable availability throughout the year, which helps the FPL Food team satisfy consumer demand for all-natural* beef.
STATE OF THE ART FACILITIES
Châtel Farms encompasses three finishing barns, a working facility, outside pens and a feed mill. We are equipped to raise 5,500 head of cattle inside the barns and feed an additional 3,000 head in the feedyard pens to balance the yearly supply. Châtel Farms’ state-of-the-art open barns are designed with high roofs and open walls that maximize airflow and allow cattle to move around more freely, keeping them cool and comfortable on hot summer days.
AND THE LOCAL ECONOMY
Châtel Farms produces much of its own forage, which reduces total input costs and provides viable economic opportunity for local farmers. We are among the first to bring the steam-flaked corn feed process that produces flavorful, well-marbled beef to the Southeast, as well.
THE BEST CATTLE BREEDS
We begin with the very best breeds of cattle including Akaushi and Black Angus carefully chosen for their superior genetics, marbling and flavor. Akaushi are Japanese cattle renowned for their exceptional marbling, calving ease, heat tolerance and increased consistency. Our cattle are fed grains grown locally in Georgia, with no animal byproducts, antibiotics or added hormones. We provide 100% transparency and full DNA traceability, so you know where your beef comes from and how it was raised. Cattle are processed nearby at our main plant in Augusta, Georgia, which reduces transportation time and helps minimize stress.
